BACK OF HOUSE KITCHEN STAFF: Prep/Line Cook, Baker

 

Rustic Reel Brewing is looking for passionate, energetic, people for its tasting room kitchen.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Rustic Reel Brewing Company is a new 15BBL craft brewery in Kelowna, featuring a tasting room where guests can try all the in-house hand-crafted beers while enjoying snacks from the eatery. Our Tackle Box marketplace is our retail space, showcasing local artisanal products, our spent grain breads, branded merchandise, and of course where growlers are filled.

 

The brewery’s tasting room seats 100 persons, while the outdoor patio seats an additional 60. Rustic Reel will be a destination location for great beer and food. The company intends on creating a casual space that is warm, welcoming and comfortable both in atmosphere as well as service. The food served will be a simple, easy-to maintain menu that satisfies the beer drinking crowd!

 

Our ideal candidate is a team player who is passionate about creating great food and can do it while having fun!

 

He/she will work in the kitchen, handling the following tasks:

-washing and preparing raw food to be cooked

-following recipes to prepare menu items

-baking breads, crackers, etc for marketplace retail sales and for use in tasting room menu items

-taking care to present menu items in a pleasing manner

-ensuring foods in hot-holding table and sandwich-prep table remain at appropriate temperatures for the full duration

-checking temperatures of all refrigeration/freezer units on-site daily

-maintaining ingredient inventory by using provided supplies checklist

-keeping facilities and equipment clean and well-maintained using end-of-shift checklists

-following start-of-day procedures

-possibly running food orders in a pinch

-taking food orders from POS printer

-following all food safe procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

-Previous cooking and baking experience

-Ability to work well with coworkers, supporting other kitchen and FOH staff in a united team

-Flexible and able to easily adjust to fast-paced lunch/dinner rushes

-Ability to do both prepping cooking and baking

-Food Safe certification

 

Part-time and full-time hours available. Flexibility in shifts is available and also requested.
